Being A Good Makeup Artist Is About Creating Your Signature- Oyelade Blessing Oluwadamilola

Oyelade Blessing Oluwadamilola is the CEO of Ibukunlewa Makeovers and a student of Oke Ogun Polytechnic, Saki, Ibadan – Oyo State.

TMG> What’s your background?

Oluwadamilola> I come from Osun state. I attended the Wesley College of Science and I’m currently a diploma student of Science Laboratory Technology at the Oke Ogun Polytechnic, Saki.

TMG> Why did you choose to become a beautician?

Oluwadamilola> I chose to be a beautician because I love beauty and I believe that every woman was beautifully made so enhancing God- given beauty isn’t a bad idea.

TMG> What excites you the most about the world of beauty?

Oluwadamilola> A lot of things, one of which is new products. I love trying out new products and always look forward to getting them.  Another thing that excites me is the transformation process- how you can actually create different looks on an individual.

TMG> What makes you happy as a beautician?

Oluwadamilola> I am always happy when I get positive reviews from my clients. So the point where I hand the mirror to my client and her reaction is everything. Really!

TMG> What three words would you use to describe yourself while working on a customer?

Oluwadamilola> Time-conscious, coordinated and focused.

TMG> What motivates you most about the business?

Oluwadamilola> I am always  motivated with the fact that makeup is about creativity and that you can always sit and think of how to be unique in your own way. i.e creating your signature.

TMG> What do you do to stay educated about new trends?

Oluwadamilola> I explore the world of makeup using my phone; I  subscribe to channels of makeup artists whose work I love, knowing that learning doesn’t stop.

TMG> What are your challenges and how do you intend to handle them?

Oluwadamilola> Having a business as a student can be very challenging and frustrating at times but then I believe that “if I want it,I can get it”. That eases off the tension and I assure myself that sooner or later, I will have what I need.

TMG> What makes your business unique than others?

Oluwadamilola> I believe everyone is unique in his/her own way, so, like I said earlier, we tend to create different signatures in the sense that our work comes in different ways. I can say my signature is what makes me unique in my own way.

TMG> Tell us about an accomplishment that you are most proud of in your career?

Oyelade> The accomplishment I’m most proud of and makes me happy deep down is the client’s satisfaction. In the sense that, since I started the business none of my clients have given me a negative feedback.

TMG> Tell us about your management style and how you handle your Customers?

Oluwadamilola> I believe  that humility/patience is the key to handling customers. Some clients can be very nasty but as a service provider, you should be calm and do your work the way they want it.

TMG> Tell us something you would like to learn or improve upon as a Beautician?

Oluwadamilola> If there is anything I would like to learn that would definitely be microblading.

TMG> What way can you encourage other youths that are interested in your kind of business?

Oluwadamilola> I encourage youths that are interested in the business that they should go for it, if it is really what the heart wants and disregard the fact that there are many others in the industry (as a lot of people say). We will all have our clients and I cannot stop your star from shining. As for my fellow upcoming makeup artists, I will say that consistency is the key to success.

TMG> What do you do with your free time?

Oluwadamilola> I learn more and pray
